Sources and hashes

Every fact links to its source document and carries a sha256 fingerprint, so you can confirm the file hasn't changed. Superintendent contracts come from NJDOE User-Friendly Budget files; salary guides come from district agreements. Source PDFs are linked, never hosted.

No estimates

Values are shown exactly as in the source. Nothing is imputed, rounded or computed.

Self-report disclaimer

Self-reported by districts to NJDOE (User-Friendly Budget); NJDOE has not verified it.

Privacy

No person is named. Superintendent contracts show the title only (for example, Superintendent); no teacher or other staff member is named anywhere.

Identity hold

Salary cells whose source document could not be tied to the district's own domain are held back until verified.

OPRA citations

Documents received under OPRA are cited as "OPRA response from [district], received [date], sha256" and are not hosted.

$0 salaries

A reported base salary of 0 is shown as "Not reported ($0 in source)".

Contract terms that end early

Some contract terms in the source budget files end before the school year they are filed under. This is a reporting quirk in the source, not an error. We show the dates as reported.
